Dr. Jawwad Ahmad, is Head, CDA Cochlear Implant Centre, Capital Hospital, Islamabad. He attended Rawalpindi Medical College, Rawalpindi presently (RMU) from 1992-98 and completed his training in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, at Pakistan Institute of Medical sciences, Islamabad in 2003. He also completed fellowship in Otology at the University of Lucerne, Switzerland. He established first ever public sector Cochlear Implant Centre in Capital hospital. This is the biggest such facility in public sector. His academic focus is on otology especially Implantation otology including outcomes based research in deafness with particular focus on outcome related to Hearing preservation techniques. He has performed more than 1200 cochlear implant surgeries and has a vast experience in ear surgery. He has been a member of several university / medical board committees for improvement of teaching and medical services. He has been involved in teaching and research in the field of otology and has published 30 articles pertinent to his field. He has also participated in several national, regional and international meetings and is an active faculty member of several medical societies.
